General Entry Requirements

Entry Requirements

  • No age limit provided the candidate satisfies basic entry qualification.
  • Mature minded and highly disciplined individuals, who must possess all the attributes of being healthy i.e. physical, mental, social, spiritual, cultural and moral.
  • Good citizenry with large capacity for learning, lacking criminal tendencies. He/she must be able to abide with the rules and regulations of the College.
  • Ability to score above the set cut-off pass mark in the entrance examination and interview conducted by the College in respect of the course of choice.

Special Note

  • a. In addition to fulfilling the general entry requirements, applicants will be required to meet the stipulated requirement for their course of choice.
  • b. The College is a uniform wearing institution.
  • c. Students who enter with forged certificates will be handed over to the police directly, immediately they are uncovered. They stand expelled from the College.
  • d. Number of places available in any of the courses is limited.

DEPARTMENT: Environmental Health

  1. HND Environmental Heath Technology (HND EHT)
  2. Environmental Health Technician (Diploma) EVT
  3. Health Education and Promotion (Certificate)

    Duration

    1. 4 years (eight semesters) with Supervised Industrial Work Experience (SIWES) and one-year internship (Post ND)
    2. 3 years (Six Semesters)
    3. 2 years (Four Semesters)

    Entry Requirements

    1. 5 credit level passes in NECO/SSCE etc. The subjects include English, Mathematics, Biology/Health Science, Chemistry and Physics at not more than two sittings.
    2. At least 4 credit level passes and 1 ordinary pass in WAEC/NECO. Credit level passes include Biology/ Health Science, Chemistry, Physics and English Language; minimum of pass in Mathematics is a must.
    3. (c)At least 4 credit level passes in WAEC/NECO. Credit level passes must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics/Chemistry and any other subject

DEPARTMENT: Community Health

  1. Community Health Extension Worker (C.H.E.W)

    2. 2 years (Four Semesters)

    Entry Requirements

    1. 5 credit level passes in SSCE / WAEC / NECO / GCE ‘O’ level in English, Mathematics, Biology or Health Science and two subjects chosen from Chemistry, Physics, Geography, Food and Nutrition and Agric Science.
    2. At least 5 ordinary passes in NECO / WAEC ‘O’ level in not more than 2 sittings. The subjects include English, Mathematics, Biology /Health Science, and any other two passes but not Yoruba/ Hausa /Igbo /Religious studies.

DEPARTMENT: Health Information Management

    1. WAEC/GCE /SSCE/NECO 5 Credit level passes at not more than 2 sittings. These must include English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

DEPARTMENT: Pharmaceutical Studies

    Entry Requirements

    1. WAEC/GCE/SSCE/NECO or equivalent 5 Credit level passes at not more than 2 sittings within a space of 5 years to enrollment with Pharmaceutical Council of Nigeria. These must include English, Mathematics, Biology or Health Science, Physics and Chemistry.

DEPARTMENT: Medical Laboratory Sciences

    Entry Requirements

    1. WAEC / GCE / SSCE /NECO 5 Credit level passes at not more than 2 sittings. These must include English, Mathematics, Biology or Health Science, Chemistry and Physics. Age of certificate used for admission into Medical Laboratory Technician must not be more than 5 years to the time of enrollment with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria

DEPARTMENT: General Health Studies

    1. 2 years (Four Semesters)
    2. 2 years (Four Semesters)

    Entry Requirements

      1. 5 credit passes in GCE / WAEC / SSCE / NECO at not more than 2 sittings in English, Mathematics, Biology or Health Science, Chemistry and at least pass in physics.
      2. Previously acquired Health Assistant Certificate with not less than 4 years cognate experience for those who spent 1 year to acquire Health Assistant Certificate
      3. Previously acquired Health Assistant Certificate with not less than 1 year cognate experience for those who spent 2 years to acquire Health Assistant Certificate.
    2. Any 5 passes in NECO OR WAEC.
